How much does it cost to rent a lorry with a driver in the UK?+
Renting a lorry with a driver from Apex typically starts at around £250 for a smaller local job and scales up by size, distance and load. Every quote is fixed in writing before we lift a box. There's no hourly meter, no fuel surcharge on the day and no overtime traps. The written price is the price you pay.
What size lorry can I rent with a driver?+
We hire out 3.5 tonne Luton vans, 7.5 tonne lorries, 12 tonne trucks and 18 tonne HGVs. All come with tail-lifts, straps, blankets and the right kit for the job, plus a fully-licensed and DBS-checked driver from our own team.
Do I need to help load the lorry?+
No. Your driver is a trained Apex mover and can load, secure and unload the entire job. Prefer to help or use your own team? That's fine too. The lorry, driver, insurance and equipment are yours for the booked window.
Is insurance included when I rent a lorry with a driver?+
Yes. Every hire includes £2 million public liability and £50,000 goods-in-transit cover as standard. Certificates and RAMS documentation can be issued in advance for venues, building managers and film production offices.
How quickly can you deliver a lorry and driver?+
Most bookings go out within 24 to 72 hours. Same-day slots are often available for local jobs. Larger multi-day contracts and long-distance work are usually planned a week or two ahead so we can lock in the right size vehicle and driver.
