How to read a quote in one minute
Look for the phrase "total payable" and one number after it. That number should include diesel, crew, lorry, insurance, dismantling and floor protection. If those aren't listed as included, they're going to be added as extras. See our hidden costs guide.

Frequently asked questions
- What's included in a standard UK removal quote?
- A proper fixed quote includes crew, lorry, diesel, insurance (£2m public liability + £50k goods-in-transit), blanket-wrapping, dismantling and reassembly of beds and wardrobes, floor protection, and box placement in the correct room at your new address.
- Are packing materials included in a removal quote?
- Only if you book packing (full-pack, part-pack or fragile-only). A quote for transport only usually includes wardrobe cartons and mattress covers loaned for the day but not packing materials for boxes.
- Is insurance included in the removal price?
- Yes with Apex — £2 million public liability and £50,000 goods-in-transit are included in every fixed price at no extra cost. Some firms sell insurance as an add-on; always confirm it's included in the total you're quoted.
